Sketch out the physical rules for your simple arcade game first. Write down clear guidelines in plain words, such as whether a character is below an obstacle opening by ten pixels. Your developer can then connect your game directly to the AI to answer these yes-or-no questions.
The software asks two simple questions every turn to decide whether to jump once or twice. Because sending messages back and forth takes a fraction of a second, the maker had to slow the game to half speed to keep the character from crashing before answers arrived.
