Our summary

Home Assistant represents devices and measurements as items with current values. HA-Jev adds items whose values come from an AI question: a likelihood of yes, a named choice, or a rating. An automation can also ask a question when it needs an answer.

The guide explains installation, private-key setup, and creating questions through settings or configuration files. Separate automation rules can use the returned values. Daily counters show how often Jev was called, how much text was processed, and the estimated cost and budget use.

Selected household information is sent to an outside service. A model's answer should not directly control a dangerous device without ordinary checks. Limit which details are shared, test uncertain answers and service failures, and set a budget before allowing repeated questions.

Key takeaways

  1. A Jev answer can appear as a reading or be requested during an automation.
  2. Keep the rules for acting separate from the answer.
  3. Review household data sharing and limit daily use.

The guide documents a community integration and worked examples.
