What it does

Drex 1.5, a 9B model built on a distilled Qwen 3.5, was opened on 9 October 2026 under Nace's own Open RAIL-M licence, which restricts some uses; the separate Drex DLM is for non-commercial use only. Both run on server code adapted from Kev, and Nace says TypeSafe's own SDK works with its hosted API after a base-URL change.

How you can use it

To run Drex on your own equipment, a developer downloads one of its models from Hugging Face and starts the small server program Nace provides. That program needs an NVIDIA graphics card, and Nace's other versions also run on Apple computers. Your software then sends a document and its questions, and gets back a probability for each answer.
