Movement and target decisions run about twice a second; deterministic game code handles aiming, reloads, dodges, and collisions.
Sketch out how an ally should behave during a match, such as choosing directions to walk and targets to attack. Have your developer query an online model twice a second for these choices, while regular game code controls mechanical tasks like aiming, reloading, and dodging.
If network replies arrive late or drop out, make the ally pause in place until fresh commands arrive. Keep built-in emergency reflexes in your regular game code so the companion can still dodge away from sudden hazards even when waiting for an answer.
