What it does

The application requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14.2 or later. Its fast model chooses among fixed answers; the slower model researches claims. Transcription runs locally on macOS 26 and newer, while older versions require an OpenAI API key with prepaid credit. Fact-checking and labeling features require a separate OpenRouter API key.

How you can use it

Get participants' recording consent before using Start live to capture your microphone and the call playing on your Mac. Choose transcription only or add timeline labels and fact-check cards. On macOS 26 or later, Apple Speech transcribes locally; older supported versions use OpenAI with your paid access key and send it the audio.

Enabled labels and fact-checking send transcript lines and conversation context to OpenRouter, even when transcription is local. Those features need a separate access key. Treat verdicts as fallible research prompts, not established facts, and consider everyone else's privacy before enabling them. Local transcription alone does not make enabled fact-checking private.
