Tavli

Greek backgammon against Jev, which reads the position with four questions and picks the move as one Choice while code enumerates and prices every legal play.

What it does

Two rules came from watching it fail: a bare hit probability made Jev pick the alarming number over the accurate one, so the app no longer shows it.

How you can use it

You can adapt this design to build a computer opponent for tabletop board games. First, write down which parts of the game are pure arithmetic and which parts need strategic planning. Your developer can write standard code to list every legal turn and score its immediate costs.

The model only steps in to choose the best strategy from a shortlist. If the model is uncertain or the rest of the match becomes simple counting, your program takes over and picks the move itself.

Maker-reported (not independently measured by JevMade): correct picks averaged 0.89 confidence and mistakes averaged 0.41 (across 38 logged decisions) · Over 59 live cube decisions the probability peaked at 0.43 · Jev left checkers on the board in 2 of 4 countable bear-off decisions
