Your developer can adapt the approach from this Chrome extension for your own media player. They must provide an access key to connect the app to TypeSafe, an outside AI service. The service reads video captions to spot sponsored messages.
The extension only jumps ahead when it is confident an ad is playing. The app asks the AI to find exact start and end points in a transcript. The media player then handles the actual skipping. This keeps the AI from controlling the video directly.
